A very nice violin bow made for W. E. Hill & Sons by Edgar Bishop in 1930. The bow is fully silver mounted and is in good condition. Stamped H&S above the frog.
Edgar Bishop worked for W. E. Hill & Sons immediately after WWI in 1918. He was taught by William Retford and quickly became one of his favourite pupils.
The bow is quite energetic and springy, it's good fun to use and produces a fun, sprightly tone. It has that classic Hill bow control and would make a fine addition to a professional players arsenal.
The weight is 60 grams.
