M. Couturieux violins are superb examples of French Mirecourt violin making from the Laberte workshops and are noted for their excellent quality of construction and tone.
This example is an exquisite model of a Guarneri being in mint condition, the varnish is perfect and is a glossy red colour with a high sheen. The violin is very well made with beautifully inlaid purfling and neat edge work, the scroll is elegant and black lined. A very fine instrument of the period, made to the highest standard. Perfect for an intermediate player. The tone is very refined, focused with a warm, brooding sound, very typical of Guarneri.
The length of the back is 358 mm.
